TLDR; this filament is not easy to print, is very toxic, clogs easily, and ruins nozzles because there's no clearing a clog once it happens.
I picked up two rolls of Vinyl 303 along with some Nylon AF80 Aramid. After printing lots of functional parts with Nylon AF80 Aramid (AF80 is fantastic, just use Magigoo PA), I was expecting more of the same. Vinyl 303 had 4 stars for "ease of printing" vs 3 stars for Nylon AF80 Aramid.
The product page for vinyl 303 even stated "a perfect choice for functional prototyping, spare parts, or printing of objects for everyday use."
I STRONGLY disagree.
First off, I had modify the start gcode of my printer to not exceed 230c when purging - something i wasn't aware of when i ordered. Only in the safety recommendations PDF does it mention "don’t use higher than 235 °C" ... "avoid breathing toxic fumes"... "harmful toxic fumes are emitted".
Second, and again this was only in the safety recommendations, stainless steel nozzles are not recommneded and will clog - something I can confirm, more on that below.
Third, even after setting up a print profile for this filament with the recommended temps and cooling, it still clogged half way through a normal print once it got to the area with some small infills between walls.
Fourth, the filament clogged in the extruder gears, and required taking my entire hotend apart. It seems softer and more sensitive to temperature than PLA, but requires a higher bed temp. So i'm not really sure how exactly you're supposed to print this filament with any model that requires retractions - as most prints do.
Fifth, once I finally got my extruder taken apart to clear the clog, the filament was completely fused in the nozzle, no amount of heating, cooling, pushing, or pulling could get the filament out of the E3D Obxidian 0.6 nozzle, a $60 part that is completely ruined because of one clog with this nightmare filament.
Once i got the extruder rebuilt and the nozzle replaced, i threw the remaining roll and a half of vinyl 303 in the garbage.
